Surface Treatments Our expertise means we can alter the color, appearance and texture of materials to fit the needs of our customers. How we do that depends on what material we’re using, and what effect we’re trying to achieve. Interiors We can apply diamond-like carbon (DLC) or physical vapor deposition (PVD) coatings to produce watch mechanisms with the lowest possible level of friction, allowing the parts to wear more slowly and permitting the timing mechanism to run longer when the watch is off a wearer’s wrist. Exteriors For decorative purposes, Del West uses both DLC and PVD coatings, as well as a process called plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO).
